Goal
achieved! Atlantis receives ISO/TS 16949:2002 Certification.
In October, 2006 Atlantis was audited by registrar Bureau
Veritas for ISO/TS 16949 with affirmative results. After the
audit, the certification process was started and Atlantis
was awarded the ISO/TS 16949 certificate in February, 2007.
Billie Jean, Operations Manager, commented regarding the certification
process, “With a great team effort, our Quality Management
System proved to meet and exceed the requirements of ISO/TS
16949. We are very happy with the results and continue to
improve each day.”
Atlantis
Changes Registrar to BVQi
In
preparation for Atlantis goal date of October 2006 for ISO/TS
16949 registration, Atlantis changed registrars to BVQi in
October 2005. BVQi performed a TS readiness review audit in
October 2005 and we were very happy with the results. Billie
Jean, Atlantis' ISO/TS coordinator remarked, "The audit
showed that we are ready for full registration."
Breakthrough
Improvement in Quality Process
Atlantis
has recently invested in a networked computer system linking
its main production facility, secondary operations, quality
department and main office. Utilizing a new client/server
spc system, sample inspection points are now entered throughout
the plant right at the process point. Capability studies are
updated instantaneously and reported back to all managers.
Dianne Carmean, Atlantis' Quality Control Manager, states
that,"I can easily find capability information on a part
based on any number of attributes. For example, we can analyze
the effect of primer lot change with respect to tensile test
data. This was previously a time consuming task. I can now
research the information in seconds and send pdf reports directly
to the customer upon request."
